Biography

João Macedo is a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Informatics Engineering of the University of Coimbra, where he is responsible for practical classes of Introduction to Java Programming and Evolutionary Computation. He is a researcher at CISUC and ISR-UC and he is currently pursuing a PhD in Evolutionary Robotics, where he focuses on developing Genetic Programming algorithms to automatically produce human-readable robotic controllers, applied to locating the sources of pollutants. He has helped with the organization of several conferences, namely EvoStar2016, ICARSC2017, PPSN2018 and GECCO2022 and is a member of the program committee of EvoAPPS and ROBOT.
