My name is Joao Batista. I'm a Professor Adjunto of Informatics at the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration of Aveiro (ISCAA - Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração de Aveiro), Portugal, since 1987. At ISCAA, I'm a member of the Scientific Board (Conselho Científico) and of the Representants Assembly (Assembleia de Representantes). Since January of 2000, ISCAA is part of the University of Aveiro. I have obtained my Master's Degree in Information Science and Technology from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 1993. I'm currently working on my PhD, also at the University of Coimbra. My past professional activities include lecturing at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, as an invited professor, and I was a consultant in the fields of Software Engineering and Management. I'm a researcher at the Center for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC - Centro de Informática e Sistemas da Universidade de Coimbra), on the Informatics Engineering Department (DEI - Departamento de Engenharia Informática), University of Coimbra (UC), Portugal, since 1993. I'm a member of the ACM - Association for Computing Machinery, AIS - Association for Information Systems, APSI - Associação Portuguesa de Sistemas de Informação, ADIC - Associação de Desenvolvimento e Investigação em Contabilidade, and of the Portuguese Professional Institution of Engineers (Ordem dos Engenheiros).
