How to get to the SEED Lab (This information is no longer valid)

The SEED Lab is located at the University of Madeira. Once you arrive at the University, go to the second floor and ask for the Departamento de Matemática e Engenharias (DME).

You will arrive on the Madeira Island via the Madeira Intercontinental Airport (FNC) located in Santa Cruz. The University is located 2 kms from the city center (Funchal) and 22 kms to the airport. To reach the University you have two options: a) and b)

a) Taxi

To get to the University it is best to get a taxi. A taxi from the airport cost approximately €30.00 and takes about 20 mins to the University.

b) AeroBus + Taxi

The Aerobus service is offered for a fee of 4.00 EUR, though TAP airline offer this service to their passengers with a boarding ticket. Tickets are obtained in the bus and the service runs from the Airport to Funchal (vice versa). Once you arrive to the city of Funchal you can take a taxi to the University (approximately €5.00).
