Research Opportunities and PhD Grants

 

The Laboratory of Communications and Telematics, is seeking PhD students, to carry out R&D work in the scope of ongoing European FP7 projects.

Applicants should hold a MSc degree in Informatics Engineering, Computer Science or in a related scientific area, as well as an BSc degree in the same area, with a final grade of 80% or above (top 20% students).

The PhD work will be carried out in the Laboratory of Communications and Telematics (LCT) of FCTUC, in one of the ongoing projects, under the following research topics:

Computer Networks, New architectures and protocols, Next generation Internet

Resource management, Routing, Traffic engineering, Admission control, Signalling, Traffic characterization

Quality or Service (QoS), Quality of Experience (QoE)

Wireless networks and protocols, Seamless mobility, Cross layer issues

Network management paradigms, Policy based management, Service oriented management

Security, Anomaly detection, Security in critical infrastructures.
