I was born on August 26, 1978 in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. While living there, I earned my undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from IIT Kanpur. More recently, I have been working towards my PhD as a researcher with the adaptive computation group of CISUC (The Center for Informatics and Information Systems of the University of Coimbra) in Coimbra, Portugal. My research focuses on the analysis of human heart sounds (phonocardiogram), and is more specifically concerned with identifying the signatures of certain heart dysfuctions, such as those associated with valve disorders.
